Thousands of students will register at institutions of higher education around South Africa as the 2024 academic year approaches. This week marks the start of the registration period for the country’s largest university.

Unisa 2024 Registration Now Open

The University of South Africa (Unisa) has opened registration for academic qualifications in 2024. Registration for 2024 will open on Monday, 9 January 2024. Your qualification will determine the closing date for registration.There are various academic qualifications available, including Higher Certificates, Advanced Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Bachelors Of Technology Programs, Degrees, and Postgraduate Certificates In Education (PGCEs).

Here Are The Unisa 2024 Registration Dates

Undergraduate Qualifications

  • Semester Modules: 9 January – 3 February 2024
  • Year Modules: 9 January – 20 March 2024
  • (Final date for initial minimum payment so that your registration can be finalised is 28 February 2024)

Honours Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas

  • Semester Modules – 9 January – 3 February 2024
  • Year Modules: 9 January – 31 March 2024
  • (Final date for initial minimum payment so that your registration can be finalised is 20 March 2024)

(Some exceptions may apply) 9 January to 31 March 2024 Your registration will be finalized by 14 July 2024 if you have made the initial minimum payment.The registration period is open to new applicants and Unisa students who have applied for admission to a new qualification. It is only possible to register if an offer of placement has been received from Unisa and accepted online.

In order to reregister for the 2024 academic year, students must register during the relevant registration period for their qualification. MyLife email addresses will be provided to all registered students. As soon as their registration is complete, students must activate their myLife email accounts.

MyLife will be the only email account recognized by Unisa for official correspondence. Additionally, it will remain Unisa’s official primary email address.
