Admission Requirements

1. National Certificate (Vocational) [NC(V)] Programs:

  • Minimum Entry Requirement: Grade 9 certificate or an equivalent qualification (NQF Level 1).
  • Duration: Three years, covering Levels 2 to 4.
  • Additional Notes: Students are allowed a maximum of four years to complete the NC(V) program, considering possible subject failures.

2. Report 191 (NATED) Programs

  • N1 Level: Open to students who have completed Grades 9, 10, 11, or 12, especially those pursuing artisan careers. Admission is based on a point system.
  • N4 Level: Requires a Grade 12 certificate or NC(V) Level 4 qualification.

3. Occupational Programs:

  • Eligibility: Applicants must meet the minimum requirements as per the registered Skills Program or Learnership approved by QCTO/SETA.
  • Note: Students who have previously enrolled in NC(V) or Report 191 programs will only be considered if they have fully completed their prior program.

Application Process

1. Placement Assessment Test

  • All new applicants must complete an online Placement Assessment Test. This assessment helps determine the most suitable program for the student and is not an IQ test.

2. Online Application

  • After the assessment, applicants can proceed to the online application portal.
  • Required documents include:
    • Certified copy of ID
    • Latest academic results
    • Proof of residence
    • Certified copies of parent/guardian ID (if dependent)
    • For foreign students: Passport, SAQA-approved qualifications, medical insurance proof, and a valid study permit

3. Application Review

  • A selection committee reviews applications based on academic records and other criteria.
  • Applicants will be notified of their application status via SMS or can check online through the i-enabler system.

Financial Assistance

Eligible students are encouraged to apply for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) to cover tuition and related expenses. It’s advisable to apply for NSFAS funding before submitting the college application.
