How to Apply for Admission

All applications must be submitted online within the designated application period. Visit the Unisa application website for more information.

Admission for Qualifications Completed Outside South Africa

  • A list of acceptable school qualifications for admission per country can be found Hear
  • Conditional exemption certificates are facilitated by Unisa for undergraduate qualifications. A separate fee is applicable for the Matriculation Board to issue the conditional exemption certificate.
  • Exemption certificates are not required for master’s or doctoral qualifications.

Application Fee Payment

  • The non-refundable online application fee is R135.00.
  • Students with an existing Unisa student number for a formal qualification are exempt from paying the application fee.

Undergraduate Qualifications:

  • M30 form for conditional exemption (if applying for a bachelor degree)

SAQA Evaluation

  • SAQA evaluates foreign qualifications for recognition within the South African National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
