Unisa stands as the largest Open Distance Learning university in South Africa, boasting thousands of students across the nation. If you aspire to join Unisa for the upcoming academic year, this is your last opportunity to apply.

Application Deadlines

  • Undergraduate Qualifications: Applications for Higher Certificate programs, Advanced Certificate Programs, Diploma programs, Advanced Diploma programs, and Degree programs opened on September 1, 2023, and will close today.
  • Honours Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas: The application window for these programs also opened on September 1, 2023, and will close today.
  • Master’s and Doctoral Degrees: Applications for Master’s and Doctoral degrees opened on September 14 and will remain open until November 10.

How to Apply

To apply to Unisa for the 2024 academic year, follow these steps:

  1. Head to the ‘Apply for Admission’ page on the Unisa website.
  2. Select your desired qualification type.
  3. Read the information provided and click ‘Start the process.’
  4. Proceed to ‘ODL and Unisa.’
  5. Click on the circle labeled ‘2’ that reads ‘Are you certain about your career?’
  6. Click on the circle labeled ‘3’ that reads ‘Choose or find your qualification.’
    • If you need more information about courses and faculties, explore qualifications by interest fields.
  7. Select your qualification by college (faculty) or level.
  8. Find the qualification you want to apply for and click on the circle labeled ‘4’ that says ‘Apply for admission.’
  9. Click ‘CLICK HERE to apply online.’
  10. Choose your qualification, answer if you have a student number, and fill in your details as prompted.
  11. Submit the required documents.

How to Track Your Unisa Application Status

If you have submitted an application and wish to check your application status, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the ‘Apply for Admission: Application Tool’ page.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and select the bubble next to ‘Status.’
  3. Fill in your details, and the current status of your application will be displayed.
  4. If you are accepted, you can accept the offer by scrolling to the bottom and selecting the bubble next to ‘Offer.’
  5. After accepting the offer, you will need to register and officially become a Unisa student.
