The Planning Assistant will be a core member of the Bulk Water Services – Operations Portfolio, reporting to the Maintenance Systems Administrator. The primary duty involves managing the daily workflow of maintenance requests through the Maximo system, a crucial tool for maintaining operational efficiency across Rand Water’s maintenance divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work Order Management: Oversee the initiation, processing, and distribution of work orders and job cards within the Maximo system to maintain a seamless operation.
- Relief Duties: Act as a Relief Maintenance Planner to ensure uninterrupted maintenance scheduling and planning.
- Administrative Functions: Manage and log departmental time sheets, support general administrative duties including documentation management, typing, filing, and recording minutes during meetings.
- Coordination: Collaborate with the Maintenance System Configurator to process work requests and modifications appropriately.
Candidate Requirements
- Educational Background: Must possess at least a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of two years in maintenance planning systems and procedures.
- Technical and Computer Skills: Should have a basic understanding of administrative functions and familiarity with maintenance management systems like Maximo. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required.
- Licenses: A valid Code EB driver’s license and capability to complete the Rand Water K53 driver’s evaluation.
