How to Change Number on SASSA R350. Changing the phone number associated with your South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) R350 grant is crucial for receiving important updates and notifications. Whether you’ve lost access to your old number or simply want to update it.

How to Change Number on SASSA R350

SASSA provides two methods to change your phone number: with and without an application ID.

1. SASSA Change Phone Number Without Application ID

If you don’t have your application ID, follow these steps to retrieve it and then proceed with changing your phone number:

  1. Visit the SASSA Application Status Page: Go to the SASSA website and navigate to the application status.
  2. Enter Your SA ID Number: Input your South African ID number, which is a 13-digit identification number for South African citizens.
  3. Enter the Previously Used Phone Number: In the next field, enter the phone number you used during your original application.
  4. Retrieve Your Application ID: Once you’ve entered the necessary details, you will be able to retrieve your application ID.

Now that you have your application ID, you can proceed to change your phone number using the second method.

2. Change Phone Number Using Application ID

If you already have your application ID, follow these steps to change your phone number:

  1. Access the SASSA Details Change Portal: Open the SASSA government details change portal.
  2. Enter Your ID Number: Provide your South African ID number.
  3. Enter Your Application ID: Input your application ID obtained from the previous step or your records.
  4. Submit Your Information: Click on the “Submit” button.
  5. Verify Your Details: You will be prompted to verify your details. Ensure that your email and other information are accurate.
  6. Reason for Changing the Phone Number: In the dialog box, explain why you are changing your phone number.
  7. Enter Your New Phone Number: Input your new phone number in the designated field.
  8. Receive and Enter OTP: Click on “Get OTP.” You will receive a One-Time Pin (OTP) on your new phone number. Enter this OTP to verify your new number.

Once verified, your phone number will be updated in SASSA’s records. This change ensures you continue to receive important updates and notifications regarding your SASSA R350 grant.

Tips for a Successful Phone Number Change

  • Ensure Accuracy: Double-check all information you enter, especially your ID number and new phone number, to avoid errors that could delay the process.
  • Keep Your Information Secure: Protect your application ID and personal information to prevent unauthorized changes.
  • Follow Up: If you do not receive an OTP or confirmation of the change, contact SASSA directly for assistance.

Conclusion

Updating your phone number for the SASSA R350 grant is essential for receiving updates. By following the outlined steps, you can easily change your contact details. Ensure your information is accurate and secure to avoid disruptions in communication.
