UNISA Postgraduate Bursary Application 2024-2025. UNISA is pleased to announce the extension of the application period for the 2024 UNISA Postgraduate Bursary. This extension applies to UNISA PG Diploma, Honours, Master’s, and Doctoral bursaries, with the new closing date set for February 2024.

Financial Support and Purpose

The primary objective of the bursary program is to provide financial support to postgraduate students. The initiative aims to create a student-centric platform that attracts and sustains postgraduate students, facilitating the delivery of high-quality research outputs.

Application Process

Only online applications submitted via the myUnisa link will be considered. Neither hard copy nor email applications will be entertained.

PG Diploma and Honours Bursary

The PG Diploma and Honours bursary targets South African UNISA alumni students, supporting them in covering tuition fees. Eligibility is contingent on academic performance, eligibility criteria, and the availability of funds.

Application Date and Outcomes

The application period for the 2024 UNISA Postgraduate Bursary is open until February 2024. Final outcomes for PG Diploma and Honours will be communicated in the first week of April 2024, following the closing date of registration in March 2024. Similarly, Master’s and Doctoral outcomes will also be communicated in the first week of April 2024.

Inactive Period

Please note that the 2024 PG Bursary applications will be inactive during the University’s closure from December 21, 2023, to January 9, 2024. The applications will be reactivated until the closing date of the bursary applications.

Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply

• Returning PG Diploma/Honours bursary beneficiaries
• South African UNISA NQF level 7 undergraduate alumni
• South African PG Diploma/Honours students in their second year of study
• UNISA permanent staff members
• Graduate School of Business Leadership students in specific programs

Ineligibility

• Students in special study programs, including certificates (PGCE), and non-degree purpose programs
• Students already holding a postgraduate degree at the same or higher NQF level than the registered qualification

Bursary Details

• The bursary covers tuition fees only
• Funding is provided for the first TWO consecutive years of study
• Exclusions: Failed/repeating modules and historic debt
