  • For a student to be eligible for an RTP or DUPRS Stipend, that student must not be receiving an income from another source exceeding 75 percent of that student’s RTP or DUPRS Stipend rate for living expenses. The student cannot include income not related to his or her course of study or income received for the student’s course of study but not to support general living expenses.
  • The applicant must have completed at least four years of tertiary education and have attained a first-class honours degree or an equivalent level of academic achievement in order to be eligible to apply for an RTP stipend or a DUPRS stipend.
  • For Doctoral degree:
  • The research project must be completed in a related area and include a thesis corresponding to at least 25% of a full-time study of Level 8 or 9 of the Australian Qualifications Framework with a grade equivalent to the Deakin grade of 70% or equivalent for the project.
  • A Master’s degree (Research) is required.
  • For Master’s Degree:
  • Completion of a research project, including a thesis, equivalent to at least 25% of a year’s full-time study at Level 8 or 9 of the Australian Qualifications Framework and achievement of a grade equivalent to 65% or higher on the Deakin examination.
