New Social Security Check for Disability Benefit Recipients: A Single Requirement. In the near future, a fresh round of Social Security checks will become available for certain individuals receiving disability benefits. If you are already receiving payments from the Social Security Administration, you only need to meet one specific requirement to cash in on the November 8 payment.

It is important to note that the November 8 payment is part of the Wednesday disbursement of Social Security checks, exclusively reserved for those individuals who meet a particular birthday requirement.

Without fulfilling this requirement, you will not be eligible for the forthcoming disability benefits payment, which is just hours away. The Social Security Administration has explicitly stated that the initial payment on the second Wednesday of November is exclusively for individuals whose birth dates fall between the 1st and the 10th of the month, with the third Wednesday payment catering to those born between the 11th and the 20th.

Who Qualifies for the November 8 Disability Benefits Check from Social Security?

Unless you are a recipient of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) with a birthdate between the 1st and the 10th, you will not be able to cash the November 8 payment. Therefore, only SSDI beneficiaries born during the last eleven days of the month will be eligible to receive this payment.

Please remember that this payment is exclusively intended for those who initiated their receipt of Social Security disability benefits after May 1997. Individuals who started receiving SSDI payments before May 1997 will have a different payday.

Those who filed for Social Security before the aforementioned date received their monthly checks on October 3, and thus, their next payment will not be available until November 3, 2023.

Determining the Amount of the November 8 Disability Benefit Check

The payments from Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) vary based on factors such as work history and contributions to Social Security through taxes. As a result, payment amounts may differ among beneficiaries.

What holds true is that as of September 2023, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has published average payment figures. For instance, if you are an SSI worker, your average check could amount to approximately $1,486 in the November 8 payment.

As for the maximum payment in 2023, checks can reach up to $3,627. Given that many individuals with disabilities may have experienced their conditions prior to retirement, their work history may not be extensive, resulting in lower payment amounts. Similar to retirement benefits, the earlier you apply for disability benefits, the smaller your check is likely to be.

For disability benefits, the required number of work credits may be lower, depending on the age at which the disability commenced. It’s important to note that the November 8 payment for SSDI will not include the 2024 Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) increase.

The SSA will issue the 2024 COLA adjustment in January of the coming year. Consequently, there are two more payments to be made before beneficiaries can enjoy the 3.2 percent increase in disability benefits, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or retirement checks.
